Going, going, back, back

The last time I was in the Philippines was when my daughter was growing in my womb. She’s now 7 years old. She now has a brother who is 5 years old. And for the first time, my partner, Raul, and I will be taking them to the Philippines.

For three months, supported by funding from the Fulbright US Scholars Program, my little family of four will be in the Philippines. Aya and Cy will have the opportunity to go to school there. My partner, working remotely, will be able to visit his ancestral home. And I will be conducting field research once more in the Philippines, exploring a new part of the country that I’ve never experienced.

As we look forward to heading back, I hope to be posting on this blog more often to reflect on our experience as a family, my ideas on the research I’m collecting and the kinds of lessons I/we learn along the way.

Stay tuned!
